Cause and Effect
I hope you guys enjoyed the drama lesson. You guys did a great job! I was really impressed with some of your acting. Good job :-) ....
So nothing difficult for this week. It's a relatively easy poem so we are not going to be anaylsing it. I just want to know what you guys thought of the poem and the lesson. Keep it short. Just a few line will do.

CA Assignment
For the psychiatric patients with short term memory loss, here's the question for you.
Refer to page 225 of your text, 'Mastering the unseen. Prose and Poetry'. You will see the poem, 'Wind' by Ted Hughes. After that refer to page 233, Qn 3a) and 3b). Do both 3a) and b).
Your dateline for this essay will be Friday, 1st August 2008. You have ample time to plan and do your essay so I want to hear no complaints.
O by the way if you are refering to work by others, please do write down the reference, otherwise you will be penalised for plagarising!
Good luck with the essay. :-)

The House on Mango Street
Try to answer the following questions. I am not expecting you to write essays. Just short paragraphs will do. So don't stress yourself out over this. :-)
(1) Why is the speaker concerned with the nature of the houses she has lived in? What feelings does she show about these houses?
(2) What is the speaker like as a character?
(3) How does the condition of this house and the other houses explain the economic circumstances of the speaker's family?

Presentation
Ed Boone
I was very impressed with your powerpoint slides. I can see that you took time to look for pictures of appropriate settings. I thought it was quite ingenious. I can tell that you guys have put in considerable effort to rehearse your parts. Christopher’s birth was done in a creative manner.
Judy Boone
Good focus on the character analysis of Judy. Good attempt in trying to infuse humor by having someone pretend to be House. At times you tended to be a bit soft but other than that a really good attempt. Your idea of having Judy being assessed by psychiatrists is excellent.
Christopher Boone
It was a great idea to have involved your fellow classmates in your presentation. You managed to engage your class in your presentation. That was a smart move. Thank you for all those sweets! Your use of powerpoint is also very impressive. I can see that you have well thought out about your character even bringing to your class mates attention certain things that they might have missed. Like the letter ‘J’. And Zhi Ting I am especially impressed with your acting prowess.
Mrs Shears and Mrs Alexander
Though your group had very little material to work with, you guys managed to have come up with some valid points. It is good to have what you want to say on the slide so that your audience could read it at the same time. On a whole a good attempt.
